Discrimination and Harassment Policy

This is a statement of the organization’s principles and sets expectations for behavior at the CoG, CoG events, and online.

The Tech Valley Center of Gravity (CoG) is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of members or guests in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any CoG activities unless specifically stated for artistic purposes. Members and guests violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the facility, banned from events or removed from online postings without a refund of dues at the discretion of the CoG management.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Written or verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination, intimidation, or objectification related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion.
  • Sexual images in public space.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of working, co-working, projects, talks or other events.
  • Inappropriate physical contact.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Enforcement

Members and guests asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately

If a member or guest engages in harassing behavior, CoG retains the right to take any actions to keep the facility, event or online presence a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion.

CoG management may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting members or making the environment hostile for any member or guest.

We expect members to follow these rules at all times, events, forums, and CoG related social activities. Be excellent to each other.
