Intro to Alexa Skills Kit

Learn how to create your own Alexa Skill (used with Amazon Echo, Tap and a growing host of other devices) with help from Rob McCauley, Alexa Solutions Architect from Amazon Speech. A packed agenda of Alexa tips and tricks:

6:00- 6:30 – Pre-game with some Networking + Free food and drinks

6:30-7:00 – Overview of Echo, Tap, and Dot by Robert McCauley Alexa Solutions Architect

7:00-7:30 – Tutorial in creating your own skill from a template in Node.js

7:30-10:00 – Free-hack  – Take your new skill and make something awesome!

Pre-requisites:

  • Bring a laptop (Windows or Mac). Only requirement is an internet browser and some basic experience with coding or scripting.
  • Guest Wifi and power outlets will be provided.
  • Bring your own Amazon Echo device, or borrow one of the 10 loaners that will be provided. OR develop within the web browser only.
