Perfect for people interested in how electronic devices work. Ages 14+ This is a one-on-one class with Steve Scotten, long time instructor and volunteer coordinator at TVCOG. After purchase, you will coordinate a time with the instructor via email to complete the class. The instructor is typically available weekdays and weekend afternoons. This three-hour introductory session will cover the basics of electronic theory and allow participants to harness the power of subatomic physics to solve logic problems! Participants will learn about common discrete components like resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors and test those components with a digital multimeter. Participants will also be introduced to the basics of circuitry using a solderless breadboard. Finally, the class will dive into transistor logic to give you a glimpse into the basic building block of all computers. You'll build digital logic gates using transistors and see how those combine to make more complex logic.
