Education Team

TVCOG is looking to add experienced instructors to our education team to work with children ages 4-18; we are particularly interested in teachers in STEM fields who have an interest in K-12 programming. Education team positions are periodic hourly contract positions. Hours are flexible, and the majority of our programs take place outside of regular school hours.

Job Opening - Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) of Tech Valley Center of Gravity (TVCOG) serves as the lead executive, responsible for all aspects of the organization’s operations, fundraising, events, programming, public relations, partnerships, and financial planning.

Reporting to the board of directors, the ED will be charged to provide leadership to successfully shape and execute the strategic direction of the organization, with clear goals, operational and financial stability, and membership growth. The successful candidate will steward our supporters and the growth of our brand, cultivate innovation, embrace creativity, and champion diversity and equity, while working to grow the organization’s funding and ensuring excellent service to members and the broader community.

In addition to the above qualities, the ideal candidate will understand the role of TVCOG as a catalyst in larger Capital Region innovation ecosystem, national maker community, and education center; mobilize resources, both financial and human, to create meaningful engagement in product development; and show enthusiasm and dedication to our mission to provide access to innovation resources, equipment, and education to diverse communities in the Capital Region.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum combined experience of five to seven years of responsibility in senior management roles in one of the following sectors: economic development, creative economy, maker or craft-tourism, incubation and/or product development.

Nonprofit management experience is required. Candidates must also demonstrate quantifiable success in fundraising and stakeholder relationship development.

Task & Responsibilities

  • Manage TVCOG staff (1 full-time and one part-time), zone coordinators, and volunteers.
  • Prepare agenda, financials, and executive report documents for Board Meetings
  • Work with staff, bookkeeper, and accountant to maintain financials
  • Generate reports and documentation for grant contracts
  • Run monthly membership meetings
  • Facilitate communication with members and community stakeholders
  • Maintain and create new partnerships with TVCOG stakeholders
  • Identify and drive new grant & funding opportunities that align with center mission/vision

Compensation And Benefits

Tech Valley Center of Gravity provides a competitive salary ($70,000 to $75,000 annually) and benefits including healthcare, IRA, and vacation time. This position is a full-time salaried position.
