Electronics 102: Intro to Soldering
Learn the basics of soldering. Ages 14+. February 22, 1-4pm
Learn to solder! This session will focus on the tools, techniques, and materials of small-component soldering. The class will touch on a broad range of supporting topics but will focus primarily on assembly of discrete components to a through-hole circuit board. This is a hands-on course in which you will solder, desolder and splice using multiple techniques. You'll learn for yourself when (and more importantly why) to choose a particular method, tool, or material, and how to do the work safely. You'll leave with a small electronic device you've assembled yourself, and the know-how needed to create good electrical connections for your own projects. No prior experience necessary. This course also qualifies as the Electronics Zone Safety Orientation for CoG Members. Ages 14 and up. Registration Fee: $80 COG Members | $110 Non-Members Registration & Cancellation policies: These group classes require sufficient enrollment to proceed at the listed price.
