This three-hour introductory session will cover the basics of electronic theory and allow participants to harness the power of subatomic physics to solve logic problems! Participants will learn about common discrete components like resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors and test those components with a digital multimeter. Participants will also be introduced to the basics of circuitry using a solderless breadboard. Finally, the class will dive into transistor logic to give you a glimpse into the basic building block of all computers. You'll build digital logic gates using transistors and see how those combine to make more complex logic. If you've ever been curious about how electronic devices work and how to get started building them yourself, this class is what you've been looking for! Ages 14+.
