THINQ101: Intro to 3D Printing for Kids

This project-based workshop will introduce aspiring young makers(ages 8 and up) to the basics of 3D printing. This activity builds introductory skills in modelling, customization, and use of a simple 3D printer to print your own personalized creation. Participants will learn how to use the popular free online 3D design software, TinkerCAD, as well as how to use the 3D printers available here at TVCOG. Students will create a 3D printed keychain that can be taken home at the end of the class.

No previous experience necessary. All materials included. Parents not required to stay in building for class.

To keep our classes affordable, we book our instructors and purchase materials in advance. We depend on advanced registration. Classes without sufficient advanced enrollment may be canceled. Advanced registration closes 3 days before the class date; after this date, a $10 late registration fee will be applied.

Cancellations must be made one week prior to the class in order to be eligible for a refund.

Discounts will be automatically applied to current COG members registering their child for the workshop. 

Please note, if your child is showing signs of COVID related symptoms and cannot attend the class, you have the option to request a full refund up to 1 week before the class begins. After this point, full class credit is offered up to the morning of the class. 

COVID-19 Safety: TVCOG is committed to ensuring the safety of its members, instructors and guests and as such, has set certain COVID-19 safety precautions in place which follow NYS and CDC guidance. You will be asked to complete a COVID waiver, sign a COVID Safety Pledge and provide contact tracing information during the registration process. Students will be socially distanced, all shared tools/equipment will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after each class, and the event space is equipped with a hand washing station and air filters. Masks are required for all attendees of this event, regardless of vaccination status.
