Quick Start Guide 6: Milling Machine

Cutting metal may seem like a daunting task. The milling machine makes the task easy by accurately cutting and shaping metal. This 2-hour class will introduce participants to the capabilities of the milling machine, and will provide a demonstration of proper machine use on a small project. The demonstration will include setting up and locating fixtures, drilling, milling, fly cutting and boring. This class will be taught by Alex Titcomb, our Volunteer Metal Shop Coordinator.

Class Fee: $35  CoG Members | $40 Non-Members

No previous experience necesary. All materials included. Participants must be 16 or older (under 18 accompanied by a guardian).

Advanced registration for all classes in this series closes 1 hour before the workshop begins. There is no late registration fee, but classes without sufficient advanced enrollment may be canceled. Drop-ins are welcome, but are encouraged to check the event page or call 30 minutes before the class start time, to ensure that the class is still taking place.
