## **Meet Our Residents**

As part of our commitment to reducing the barriers to making, we provide local underserved
artists with an opportunity to learn about various digital fabrication methods such
as 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC routing. They are then given a materials
stipend in order to create a final project to showcase at Troy’s annual Victorian
Stroll. The entire program is free, ensuring that anyone has the ability to participate.

## Giselle Lora

Giselle was born and raised in Troy. Growing up, she had a passion for art but never
thought it could be a viable career. But even after stepping away she couldn’t fully
let go of her aspirations. After moving back to Troy several years ago, she decided
to begin creating again.
In 2024 she was part of Collar Works studio residency program,
where she began shifting from digital illustration to painting with acrylics. Giselle’s
work seeks to delve into the complexities of identity and self-perception: “Through
digital and acrylic painting, I explore how we evolve, how we see ourselves, and
how we sometimes hold multiple conflicting versions of who we are.”Giselle’s final
project was made using the 3D scanner, 3D printers, and laser cutter.

## Tyna Ontko

Tyna grew up in a small town on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington state. She was
surrounded by makers of many kinds, from welders to loggers that picked up chainsaw
carving as a hobby to community theater. Using her creative beginnings as a jumping
off point, she earned an undergraduate degree in print making and more recently
a graduate degree in sculpture and extended media.
Her overall goal is to  “hold
space for contradiction by queering expectations around how objects and materials“
should” function, opening the door to possibilities for ways in which we may collectively
remember anew.” In order to achieve this, Tyna has incorporated sound, photography,
writing, architectural intervention, and devised theater into her practice which
has led her to wanting to explore even more avenues of creativity.Tyna’s final project
was made using the CNC router.
