This 3hr class will cover basics of electronics soldering. Perfect for beginners. Ages 14+ This is a one-on-one class with Steve Scotten, long time instructor and volunteer coordinator at TVCOG. After purchase, you will coordinate a time with the instructor via email to complete the class. The instructor is typically available weekdays and weekend afternoons.

Learn to solder! This session will focus on the tools, techniques, and materials of small-component soldering. The class will touch on a broad range of supporting topics but will focus primarily on assembly of discrete components to a through-hole circuit board. This is a hands-on course in which you will solder, desolder and splice using multiple techniques. You'll learn for yourself when (and more importantly why) to choose a particular method, tool, or material, and how to do the work safely. You'll leave with a small electronic device you've assembled yourself, and the know-how needed to create good electrical connections for your own projects.
