Learn to solder! This session will focus on the tools, techniques, and materials of small-component soldering. The class will touch on a broad range of supporting topics but will focus primarily on assembly of discrete components to a through-hole circuit board. This is a hands-on course in which you will solder, desolder and splice using multiple techniques. You'll learn for yourself when (and more importantly why) to choose a particular method, tool, or material, and how to do the work safely. You'll leave with a small electronic device you've assembled yourself, and the know-how needed to create good electrical connections for your own projects.
