Learn something new, on your schedule! These one-on-one classes are available by appointment, giving you scheduling flexibility.
Pre-registration is required; you will arrange class dates and times via email with your instructor after registration is complete. Classes must be purchased a minimum of 1 week before preferred class date.
Instructor availability varies; we highly encourage students to register well in advance and offer instructors several possible dates and times for classes.
Private classes are offered at a slightly higher rate than group classes, as costs aren’t shared.

Metal Shop QSG classes are hosted by TVCOG’s in-house Operations Technician, Alex Titcomb.
This beginner friendly 2hr class covers safe laser cutter operation and the basics of designing for the laser cutter. Participants will go home with a battery-powered illuminated acrylic sign of their own design. Ages 13+ Instructors are typically available on weekdays, weekends and Wednesday evenings. $75 TVCOG Members | $90 Non-Members
This 2hr advanced beginner class will cover making complex 3D designs using the laser cutter, including refreshers on basic safety operations. Ages 14+. Participants go home with a fully assembled dice box. Prior experience with laser cutting required. Instructors are typically available on weekdays, weekends and Wednesday evenings. $80 TVCOG Members | $100 Non-Members
This 3hr, beginner-level hands-on workshop will focus on the tools, techniques, and materials of small-component soldering. You’ll leave with a small electronic device you’ve assembled yourself, and the know-how needed to create good electrical connections for your own projects. Ages 14+ Instructors are typically available on weekdays, weekends and Wednesday evenings. $115 TVCOG Members | $130 Non-Members
This 3hr, beginner level class will cover the basics of working with Arduino microcontrollers. Participants will leave with their own Arduino-powered, retro-style handheld video game with LED display and mini joystick. Ages 14+ Instructors are typically available on weekdays, weekends and Wednesday evenings. $115 TVCOG Members | $130 Non-Members

Glass Arts 102: Enameled Jewelry
This 2 hr, beginner-level class will cover how to choose enamels and metals, prepare the metal, sift enamel and fire. At the end of class, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind enameled piece to take home. This is a one-on-one class with Kari Wood of KWood Enamels. Ages 16+ Instructor is are typically available on weekends. TVCOG Members $70 | $80 Non-Members
Fiber Arts 101: Basic Tote Bag
In this 2 hr, beginner-level class, students will be introduced to basic sewing techniques including pattern cutting, using a sewing machine and sewing basic seams. You’ll walk away with your very own tote bag! Hosted by Sarah Collen of The Troy Sew Shop. Ages 16+. Instructor is typically available nights and weekends. TVCOG Members $70 | $80 Non-Members


CAD Design Mentoring
This 2hr mentorship will provide you with professional assistance for your current CAD projects. The instructors can tackle a majority of problems, but they are most experienced in CAD for rapid prototyping, focusing on CNC and 3D Printing, and have a specialty in CAD for mold making. Ages 16+. This is a one-on-one class with Julian Goldman and Dierdre Shea of Fun Stuff Design. Instructors have flexible availability outside of Saturday mornings. $220 TVCOG Members | $240 Non-members
